Budgit Nigeria Accuses National Assembly Of Incessant Budget Padding

Nigeria’s civic technology organization, Budgit Nigeria has expressed dismay over the National Assembly’s incessant insertion of budgets in the country.

This is contained in one of it’s recent publications on X where it described such budget insertion as a mess.

While takig a critical review of the 2025 proposed budget, Budgit Nigeria however called on the National Assembly to prioritise national interests over personal interests.

This development followed the recent budget defense of the Federal Co-operative College Ibadan, Oyo State that submitted a 2024 proposed budget of N1.5 billion to the National Assembly, but in contrary, the National Assembly approved a total sum  N46.9 billion after inserting 182 projects worth N45.36 billion.

The organization therefore urged Nigerians to endeavor asking relevant questions regarding their budgets and other government policies.
