Kwara State residents have been advised to protect themselves from the effect of heat waves being experienced in recent time.

This followed the recent prediction by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency, NiMet, that nineteen States across the country, including Kwara, would experience heat waves in the coming days due to climate change.

The State Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge gave the advice in a statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin.

Hajia Buge encouraged residents to drink plenty of water, wear light clothings and reduce outdoor activities.
