Becoming Akogun Of Shao Land, Great Task That Must Be Done – Chief Oladunni
Friday, 26th December, 2024 would remain a memorable day in the life of the new Akogun of Shao land, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State, Chief Elder Olanrewaju Alaba Oladunni, his wife, Chief Mrs. Abosede Oladunni, the entire family, Shao Sons and Daughters and well wishers.
The atmosphere was enthralling as thousands of people gathered from far and wide to witness the momentous occasion.
While speaking to newsmen, Chief Oladunni who expressed his happiness noted that the new role as Akogun of Shao land came to him as a surprise, if one would deeply flash back to how he grew up having nothing to show for anything.
While appreciating the Ohoro of Shao land, Oba Dr. Job Obalowu Atolagbe Ayanlowo and the Council of Chiefs, he noted that the new role underscored his commitment to community building and his strive to work diligently for the development of Shao land.
Describing how the event unfolded, the sun shone brightly overhead, casting a warm glow over the sprawling crowd, the air was alive with excitement and anticipation as traditional drummers and musicians filled the air with rhythmic beats and melodies.
The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, while dignitaries, including traditional rulers, government officials, and community leaders, were seated in a place of honor, their faces beaming with pride and joy to rejoice with the new Akogun of Shao land.
According to Chief Oladunni, “I am deeply honored to stand before you today as the newly appointed Chief Akogun of our great town. I am humbled by the trust and confidence reposed in me by our community, and I pledge to work tirelessly to promote the welfare and prosperity of our people.”
While acknowledging the new role as a community leader, he promised to engage in
community development projects and economic empowerment initiatives.

While acknowledging the efforts of community leaders, Youths, Women among others, the Chief Akogun acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the community leaders, volunteers, and every individual who has contributed to the success of the coronation program.

In her response to questions, the wife of Chief Akogun Oladunni, Chief Mrs. Abosede Oladunni expressed that her joy knows no boundaries, but appreciated everyone whom God has used to make the day memorable.
She vowed to accord more support to her husband in all ramifications to record more success and make the dream of better Shao land of her husband to become reality.
The people of Shao land, well wishers and associates described the Akogun of Shao land as a highly respected and beloved leader, renowned for his exceptional kindness, compassion, and dedication to serving his community.
He was described as a selfless and tireless leader who always put in more efforts to improve the lives of his people.
