Early Rainstorm Wreaks Hovoc In Kwara, Ijagbo Community Seeks Nigeria’s Minister Of Justice’s Support
S.A.M NEWS gathered that the rain which began around 4 p.m. last Monday, tore off roofs and exposed classrooms to the elements damaging essential learning materials and disrupting academic activities.
As people begin to experience rainfall in the year 2025 in Nigeria, some communities have begun to count their losses as a result of heavy downpour.
As some people who experienced the 1st rainfall of the year 2025 thanked God for the relief from heat, residents of Ijagbo town in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State have been rendered homeless as a reslut of rainstorm that happened last Monday in the town.
S.A.M NEWS gathered that the rain which began around 4 p.m. last Monday, tore off roofs and exposed classrooms to the elements damaging essential learning materials and disrupting academic activities.
Also, residential houses and market stalls were destroyed with their roofs blown away and other property damaged.
It was reported that rainstorm destroyed more than 10 classrooms at Ansarul-Deen College, Ijagbo, thereby leaving students and teachers stranded.
While responding to the development, the Senior school principals, Mr. Musbaudeen Olaniyi appealed to the state Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, to come to their rescue as a matter of urgency to restore the damaged infrastructure.
Mr Musbaudeen said they are saddened by the unavoidable disaster which poses serious threat to their students’ education.
He also appealed to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), to support the schools and residents affected by the rainstorm in the town.
