The Chairman, Senate Committee on Agricultural Production, Services and Rural Development, Senator Saliu Mustapha said, Wednesday, that the bill he sponsored is aimed at revitalizing agricultural extension services, support smallholder farmers, and enhance food security across Nigeria.
Senator Mustapha, the lawmaker from Kwara Central, who stated this after Wednesday’s plenary noted that he remained committed to promoting initiatives that strengthen agricultural sector and improve the lives of the common people in the rural areas.

Meanwhile, the sponsored Agricultural Extension Service Bill, 2024 (SB. 646) has passed through first reading at the plenary.
The bill which is set to progress to the second reading for further deliberation, the lawmaker emphasized that, when passed into law, it would address issues relevant to extension services and agricultural development and create more opportunities in the country.
