Nigerian Society Of Engineers Advocates Continuity Of Institution-Based Inductions
Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ilorin Branch, Dr. O.A. Ogunjirin, FNSE, has advocated the continuity of institution-based inductions, as Kwara State University, KWASU graduates inducted into the NSE three hundred and eighty-seven (387) engineers who recently graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of the institution.
The induction which took place during the Graduate Membership Induction Ceremony and Public Lecture, Dr. Ogunjirin stated that inducting new engineering graduates as graduate members of the Society signals the start of brilliant careers.
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba noted that KWASU’s collaboration with the Nigerian Society of Engineers reflects the university’s commitment to fostering professionalism among its students and alumni.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Bilyamin Ibitoye, mentioned that the new graduate members were from the six (6) departments in the Faculty, namely: the Department of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, the Department of Civil Engineering, the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, the Department of Material Science Engineering, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Other executives of the Ilorin Branch were present to conduct the oath-taking ceremony before the new graduate members were inducted into the prestigious professional society.
The best graduating student from each department received an award of excellence from the NSE with Immanuel Osayi Ulinfun of the Department of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, received the overall best graduating student award.
